​Hi I am Jan — owner, cake designer, and baker behind Wedding Cakes by Cake Celebrations. I am known for creating elegant, refined wedding cakes that are as delicious as they are beautiful.

Originally a Lancashire lass, I spent many years living in Somerset before relocating to Penwortham in December 2021 to care for my Mum. I am happily married with a grown-up son, and — fun fact — I once swam competitively for Great Britain! That experience instilled in me the discipline, dedication, and drive I now bring into every part of my business.

Cake design has been a lifelong passion. Over the years, I have developed a deep love for crafting timeless, stylish wedding cakes from scratch — each one made with care, creativity, and the highest quality ingredients. My attention to detail is something I am truly proud of and has always been at the heart of what I do. I am an award winning cake artist having won several awards at the annual Cake International Event and competition at the NEC in Birmingham (Silver Award in 2022, Silver and Bronze Award in 2023 and Silver Award in 2024). I was over the moon when having received another Silver Award in 2025 - just 2 points off a gold! I also came 3rd in my category of Wedding Cake of Three or more tiers — proud milestones on this journey (hopefully next year will be my golden year!)

I launched my business in 2013 while working full time as a PA to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety in the NHS. For a decade, I balanced my creative side with the demands of a public sector role, until I made the leap to follow my passion full time. That decision brought me the freedom to fully commit to doing what I love — designing bespoke cakes that bring joy and lasting memories.

More than anything, I care about people. I take the time to get to know each couple I work with, understanding what truly matters to them and their story. I offer a personal, high-end service that is built on trust, connection, and shared creativity — resulting in a bespoke centrepieces that align with each couple I work with.
