Hi, I am Jan — owner, designer and baker behind Wedding Cakes by Cake Celebrations.
I specialise in creating elegant, timeless wedding cakes that are as exquisite to eat as they are to admire. Every cake is designed from scratch and handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, using the finest ingredients and finished with the refined sugar artistry that has become synonymous with my work.
Originally a Lancashire lass, I spent many happy years in Somerset before returning to Lancashire in 2021 for personal reasons. I now work from my studio in Penwortham, creating bespoke wedding cakes for couples celebrating at beautiful venues across the North West and throughout the UK.
My passion for precision probably began long before cake. As a former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain, I learnt the value of discipline, commitment and striving for excellence — qualities that continue to shape everything I do today.
Since launching Wedding Cakes by Cake Celebrations in 2013, I have built a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, outstanding customer service and creating cakes that become unforgettable centrepieces of a wedding day. My work has been recognised at Cake International, where I have been awarded multiple awards over consecutive years, including achieving 3rd place overall in the Wedding Cake (Three Tiers or More) category in 2025.
Today, I have the privilege of creating cakes for weddings at some of the country's most prestigious hotels, country houses and exclusive venues, working seamlessly alongside experienced wedding planners, luxury caterers and venue teams to ensure every detail is delivered flawlessly. Whether your celebration is an intimate gathering or a grand wedding, you can be confident your cake is in experienced hands.
What matters most to me, however, is the relationship I build with every couple. I take the time to understand your vision, your style and the atmosphere you want to create, guiding you through the design process with warmth, honesty and attention to every detail.
